Over the weekend, I went back through the posts on this garbage fire and made sure they were tagged appropriately. I found this post on Sunday, and while I’m not saying this makes me Nostradamus, it does beg the question: How many of us were thinking the same thing at the same time? If a lot of folks were thinking the same thing at the same time a year ago… (points to all this).

One of the nice things about my day job is the flexibility. For example. I have a doctor appt at 1:30 pm today. I don’t want to take time off, and while I have my full complement of sick time I don’t want to use it unless I have to. As long as I work an 8-hour day, my team is cool with it. So, I logged in at 4 am this AM, took an hour lunch at 8 am, and will log off for the day at 1 pm. That’s an outlier, but I was having trouble sleeping anyway. TCB, as they say.

Who’s got the bingo card for tomorrow’s VP debate? Hook a guy up.

An eventful weekend, which makes my doctor’s appointment today convenient. More on that later, possibly.

  • KJP’s Inner Monologue

(What in the actual, physical and spiritual fuck is happening right now? How many times am I gonna have to answer the same fucking question about this? Jesus, Mary and Frankenberry. I mean, normally it’s just Doocy that acts like a decerebate, now I have a whole fucking room of them.

Meanwhile, I got a boss that’s hiding under his desk and shouting the Gondor calls for aid. I bet that was the movie on the flight home? While we’re on the subject…jet lag? Really? D-Day and the G7? That was a month ago. How long does it take to get back to normal? It’s six hours, not six fucking weeks!

I swear, I can just install a See and Say in every one of these motherfuckers that just says “Is he dropping out? Does he have dementia? Why does everything here smell like formaldehyde and regret?” Get me out of here.

I never want to see a pint of ice cream for as long as I live.)

  • Framing Matters

Any photographer—any storyteller—will tell you that how you frame something can tell a quite a different story from reality.  For example, here’s a wide shot of Independence Hall from Biden’s speech.

Here’s the photo that’s circulating over on Right Wing Media.  Notice a difference?

This photo is a close and cropped shot to exclude the blue panels on either side, and it’s been Photoshopped to make the red backdrop behind him darker and more sinister.   Biden’s body language is meant to portray something evil, but since this photo has clearly been, uh, selectively edited, I find myself wondering if Biden actually did this.

Don’t believe everything you see.  Question Everything.
